Lennie's, Lennie's Pennies, East 32nd - Lee Konitz with the Brad Linde Ensemble - 2013
I enjoy this piece a ton of musical notes. It is best🎹🎶🎵
She can READ well. Next learn to mix the notes up within the scales within each measure. 🤔 Improvise is what jazz is all about. Coltrane learned every possible Chord change a piano player would play while preforming each song each measure and then he would try to play all of the chords himself and keep playing within the time signature. Overtones where created. But he did it. Example: "I want to know you" the live version when he finished the track solo.🤔✌
Love this 💞
I liked it very much, so nice, Vanessa.
That white boy has waves, mom.
Fabulous rendition. Absolutely fabulous. Everybody looked great.
Got some motifs from Esperanza Spalding’s Smile Like That!! Bassline @ 4:58 , sounds similar to hers in her official visualizer 2 yrs ago, song at 1:20
The flute is nice but the amatory sax is the right instrument for Take 5…. I play both ….this lady plays Paul Desmond’s transcribed solo
Meant to say alto sax is the best instrument for T5
Beautifully done! Well done everyone!
Play, magic fingers, play. Awesome job.
Beautiful playing by all. Vanessa, I hope you are still playing!
Brubeck's Take 5 is a so great masterpiece that it sounds excellent both when it is played by a saxophone and by a flute, as here.
Good job done
Jazz ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Could be better tbh
this needs to be on spotify
Ficou incrível take 5 na flauta ,parabéns ao trio que tiveram uma excelente performance.
Bill Cole , an American , Icon
Sensacional... muito bem executado por todos que fizeram parte.
Love the sound and the pace
Great rendition, Bravo! The solo is a more or less exact transcription of Paul Desmond alto sax solo, and perfectly executed by the flutist!
faaaaaaaaaaaack
great...GENIAL.
I honestly miss him and his performing. He sounds good!
Flute very exelen t girls so talented
this is a wonderful rendition. thank you for sharing it.
nicework。🙄
Sometimes you find some classic you just want to play endlessly on repeat. Like this iteration. It feels like I just had six ten-minute breaks per hour, thank you.
Can someone explain why the pianist gets their music pages turned for them but none of the other players who also cannot take a hand away to do do themselves.
very very good........................................................................................
✌️🤍💛🍓🇹🇷🙏🏼…+1.~
This is the best rendition I have heard. I 2:53 love her voice. The band is swell!❤
wow
Killin!

Excellent rendition. Love the flute on this song...
Nice !
speaking from experience, being modified from sax to flute, this is a BITCH to play. such an amazing performance!
Flute is such an versatile and super musical instrument. This video is truly a great example of what I say The young musicians here are all talented jazz musicians their performance in here is one top notch. Salute the lady and all others including the bass player for recording the same.
Why this video has so few view? This Young dudes music is awesome
This is really cool 🎹🎵👍
I’m 62. My parents had 78s of the Lennie Tristano Sextet and Lee’s Subconscious-Lee. There was a Buddy DeFranco side. I first heard those remarkable ‘baroque’ lines , dare I say it, subconsciously, from about 5 years old. Then I began to try and sing these linear heads. I recall finding Marionette the easiest. My parents got me a ‘simple system’ clarinet. Then an alto sax. By then I was addicted to Lee Konitz but also Lennie Tristano, Warne Marsh, Sal Mosca. Those linear, serpentine compositions became the anthems of my life. I liked other jazz. I like a broad spectrum of jazz from Prez to John Surman. Oddly I came to Konitz before Bird! Marsh before Coltrane. I would say by the mid-1990s the Tristano/Konitz/Marsh repertoire was working its way into the American jazz standards. But by god, it took a long time.
The flute gives this such a sweet, feminine feel. Marvelous!
😎 👍
The flute is the "naked instrument". Mistakes in intonation are immediately apparent. The flute also has a limited dynamic range. She did a good job but she read the part.
Oh yes - that works!
Definitely one of the nicest renditions I've listen too. Nice work for sure.
This band rocks! Love @AllisonMiller's style with these guys!
Drummers using the brushes. I am all in whenever they do that.
